Make your charity touch lives both locally and globally.

Hessa wants her Ramadan Sadaqah to reach those in need no matter where they are. The family regularly gives food, water, and alms to those working outdoors. Official data published by the UN shows that in 2025, the UAE ranked among the top 3 for humanitarian aid globally, contributing USD 1.46 billion in foreign aid. This encourages Hessa to ensure that her charity broadens its reach to not just the people she comes in contact with but also with others globally.

Here are ways in which you can maximize the reach of your giving, while ensuring that you use credible and respected channels:

1. Dar Al Ber:

UAE’s Dar Al Ber society has launched its 2026 Ramadan campaign, with projects set to benefit more than 1.7 million people across the UAE and 24 countries worldwide. Programs include providing meals worth AED 3.5 million in the UAE, and AED 1 million in other countries via cooked meals or food parcels.

Reach out to their representatives in malls or service centers, or contact them via their app, website, or toll-free number 80079.

2. The “Edge of Life” campaign:

The campaign aims to raise at least AED 1 million to rescue five million children worldwide from the threat of hunger in partnership with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger.

Whether you are in the UAE or outside, contribute via the website www.edgeoflife.ae, bank transfer to IBAN: AE940340003708472909222, by calling 8004999, through the DubaiNow app, or via YallaGive.com and Jood.ae.

3. The UAE Food Bank:

Dubai Cares, UAE Food Bank, and Choithrams have launched their fifth ‘Double Blessings’ Ramadan campaign, to support education and food security programs across vulnerable communities, to continue until the end of March.

Donate virtual biryani boxes for AED 10 or food boxes for AED 20 at checkout counters across all Choithrams stores in Dubai, as well as online at www.Choithrams.com.

4. Bouquet of Goodness:

Sharjah Charity International has launched its Ramadan initiative, called the Bouquet of Goodness, inviting the community to donate AED 100 to support humanitarian projects including patient treatment sponsorships, education, food, and clothing for those in need in the UAE and globally.

To contribute to preferred projects, SMS “bouquet” to 6215, visit www.shjc.ae, call 80014, or download its mobile app.

5. Ramadan Continuous Giving:

Emirates Red Crescent enables donations starting AED 10 for a day’s food basket to setting up Iftar tents and meals, Eid clothing, and facilitating Hajj and Umrah.

Visit www.emiratesrc.ae, pick an amount ranging from AED 10 to AED 1,200 and follow the steps to make your contribution.

6. Be ready to give near home:

Giving takes both intention and preparation. You can do good daily by being aware of those in need around you. Simple things like taking care of Iftar meals for delivery people or car cleaners can make a difference in your surroundings.

Being prepared is part of being a good citizen. Keep supplies ready for situations where you might be called upon to help.
