ADIB receives Gold category Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award

Abu Dhabi, February 26, 2020: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, has received a Gold category at the 18th edition of the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards (SKEA). The award was presented by His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, at a ceremony held at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The fourth SKEA award won by ADIB recognises the bank's world-class operations and its contribution to the development of Abu Dhabi's private sector, particularly through the development, training and opportunities it provides employees.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, SKEA was launched in 1999 by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry to recognise those organisations in the UAE who have demonstrated excellence in their business practices, continued improvement, and enhanced the competitiveness of the business sector in the UAE.

Mazin Manna, CEO of ADIB, commented: "Investment in our services is central to ADIB's mission to deliver an exceptional banking experience to customers, particularly through technological innovation and high-quality personal interactions. A progressive bank such as ADIB stays ahead of the curve by attracting and retaining talent. With a high Emiratisation ratio and successful career development programs, ADIB has the knowledge and expertise to capitalise on growth opportunities in the UAE economy and remain at the forefront of the banking industry. We are grateful and proud that our efforts have been recognized by the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, and we are excited to build on this success to further enhance our offering over coming years."

ADIB currently runs three distinct training programmes dedicated to supporting UAE nationals within the bank. The Retail Banking program hires young Emiratis based on the bank's anticipated needs, enrolls them in a full-time training to develop their skills, preparing them to take on senior roles within the bank. Qiyadat is a leadership initiative designed to give emerging ADIB Emirati staff first-hand management experience. Similarly, the Tamkeen Women's program is a leadership training program dedicated to empowering ADIB's female Emirati employees.

ADIB has received numerous awards for its Emiratisation programmes, including the award for Best Nationalisation Initiative and Excellence in Talent Management from the MENA HR Awards, and the Human Resource Development Award from the Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies. The bank was also named 'World's Best Islamic Bank' by the FT's The Banker Magazine, 'Best Premium Banking Service in the UAE' from Banker Middle East, and 'Best Islamic Bank' at the EMEA Banking Awards.
