ADIB wins Local Currency Deal of the Year & Project Financing Deal of the Year at Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards

Abu Dhabi, 13 December 2017: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, has been awarded the Local Currency Deal of the Year & Project Financing Deal of the Year at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards for outstanding achievement and excellence in Middle Eastern and Islamic capital markets. The awards ceremony was held in Dubai last.

ADIB was recognised for its leading role in structuring, arranging, coordinating and documenting the National Central Cooling Company "Tabreed" AED 1.5 billion club term facility to win Local Currency Deal of the Year. The bank won Project Financing of the Year for its role as Joint Mandated Lead Arranger and Joint Bookrunner of the Islamic tranche of Dubai's Airport Financing Company "FINCO" US$ 3 billion debut project financing.  Other categories for which ADIB was nominated include Real Estate Finance Deal of the Year, and Syndicated Loan Deal of the Year by a Debut Borrower.

The annual Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards brings together leading businesses from the local and international finance and investment community. The winners were selected by a judging panel comprising 18 esteemed figures from banking and finance.

ADIB's Wholesale Bank Group has been active across a wide range of transactions over the last 12 months, including a US$300mn club term facility for Etihad Airways, a US$ 75.6mn syndicated finance for Dubai Aerospace Enterprise ("DAE") and a US$1.25bn syndicated finance for GEMS MENASA.

ADIB has received numerous awards in recent months, including a Gold Category of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, "Best Overall Bank in Customer Experience in the UAE" by Ethos consultancy for the sixth year, "Best Islamic Bank in the Middle East" at the EMEA Finance Middle East Banking Awards 2016, and 'Best Premium Banking Service in the UAE' from Banker Middle East.
