ADIB Receives Gold LEED Award for its newly launched branch in Dalma Mall

Abu Dhabi, February 22 2021: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, has opened its first ‘green’ branch in Dalma Mall following a significant redesign focused on a new sustainable layout. The branch is certified as Gold LEED (ID+C) V4 from the US Green Building Council and marks ADIB as the first Islamic bank globally to receive the certification for its retail branch.

The new Dalma Mall branch, based in Abu Dhabi, has been recognised for applying best-in-class building strategies and practices that have concentrated on minimizing energy and water intake and waste output, maximizing recycling and environmental quality. Energy efficiency measures will result in cost savings of almost 25% per cent and it uses 45% per cent less water than a conventional building.

Easa Al Tunaiji, Global Head of Real Estate Management at ADIB said: “The Gold LEED certification of our Delma branch is a testament of our growing commitment to being environmentally responsible and the UAE’s long-term sustainability strategy. We aim to rollout as many of these new redesigns as quickly as possible. We currently have four branches to be completed during 2021, and we will do so without compromising on serving our customers well.”

In recent months, the bank introduced a digital booking service enabling customers to schedule their branch visits ahead of time through the online banking platform and mobile app.
